List of Fidelity College Savings Plans

Fidelity has four 529 college savings plans. You can invest in any state’s plan and use the funds at most eligible schools nationwide.

What is a 529 College Savings Plan ?

A 529 plan is a savings plan designed to encourage saving for future college cost. College Savings earnings grow federal income tax deferred and may also be eligible for state tax deductions.

If you withdraw money from a 529 plan and do not use it on an eligible college expense, you will be subject to income tax and 10% tax penalty on earnings.

Fidelity’s 529 College Savings Plans

UNIQUE College Investing Plan (NH/National)

The UNIQUE College Investing Plan is New Hampshire’s tax-advantaged 529 college savings plan, open to both residents and nonresidents. The plan is sponsored by the state of New Hampshire and managed by Fidelity Investments.

  • Qualified withdrawals are free from federal income tax and NH interest and dividends tax
  • $375,000 account maximum per beneficiary

U.Fund College Investing Plan (MA)

MEFA’s U.Fund, the Massachusetts 529 college investing plan, is a tax-advantaged college savings plan professionally managed by Fidelity. MEFA is a nonprofit state authority that works to make higher education more accessible and affordable.

  • Qualified withdrawals are free from federal and MA income tax
  • $375,000 account maximum per beneficiary

Delaware College Investment Plan

The Delaware College Investment Plan is a tax-advantaged 529 college savings plan open to both residents and nonresidents. The plan is sponsored by the state of Delaware and managed by Fidelity Investments.

  • Qualified withdrawals are free from federal and DE income tax
  • $350,000 account maximum per beneficiary

Fidelity Arizona College Savings Plan

The Fidelity Arizona College Savings Plan is a tax-advantaged 529 plan, open to U.S. residents. The Plan is sponsored by the Arizona Commission for Postsecondary Education.

  • Qualified withdrawals are free from federal and AZ income tax
  • $419,000 account maximum per beneficiary
